Leading From the Trenches
October 14 - October 15, 2024   |   Academy - 1595 Bonham Rd. Bristol, VA 24201
Leading from the Trenches
Leading from the Trenches is a class designed for non-supervisory law enforcement, corrections and communications officers to realize and embrace their leadership roles within their organizations. Officers often believe that they have little or no value within the organization except to make arrests, write reports and issue citations. The reality is that an organizations true strength is in the line officers that are contacting the public many times each day and are either improving the organizations brand or damaging it. Command level officers don’t have enough time in a day to repair relationships damaged by officers that are negatively impacting the agencies brand and credibility. The curriculum was created to empower officers to be the leaders the public demands during these difficult times while at the same time helping them develop ways to grow their leadership after the class ends.
Topics to be covered include Mindset, Organizational Responsibility, Leading without Rank, Communication and Motivation.
