Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy will be hosting a Below 100 class being taught by VACORP instructors. The class will be held on October 13, 2023, 8:00am – 12:00pm.

Course Highlights

This class is to influence law enforcement culture by providing innovative training and awareness, through presentations, social media, and webinars on identifying the leading cause and current trends in preventable line of duty deaths and injuries.

The course focuses on reducing preventable line of duty deaths by reinforcing the five basic tenants of safety that statistically contribute to the majority of line of duty deaths.

1. Wear your belt.
2. Wear your vest.
3. Watch your speed.
4. WIN – What’s Important Now?
5. Remember: Complacency Kills!

Career Development hours will be awarded.

Member agencies register through TRACER, non-member agencies complete a registration form and forward to the academy via e-mail jnash@svcjta.com.
