Animal Control In-Service Course Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office

The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy will be hosting an Animal Control In-Service Course on June 15, 2026 from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office. This course, taught by Robert Leinberger Jr., will equip Animal Control Officers with updated tactics and information pertinent to their careers.

• The Animal Control In-Service School will provide instruction in:
  • Dangerous and Vicious Dog Investigations
  • Modern Look at Animal Care & Control
  • Case Preparation & Reports
  • Care of Companion Animals
  • Care of Agricultural Animals by Owner
