Course Description:
Prior knife or defensive tactics training is not required.
Self-defense knife skills for the law enforcement officer when attacked by an armed suspect. In the scenario based close quarters exercises throughout this training, the LE duty pistol is not a viable option to defend against the attack.
Recommended for:Patrol, school resource officer, tactical teams, prisoner transport, dignitary Protection, gang and narcotics interdiction, supervisors, etc.
Defensive tactics and firearms instructors are strongly encouraged to attend.
Course Components:
Skills – Knife skills for self-defense against edged & blunt weapon attacks
Legal (2hrs) – Use of force and incident documentation
Uniform and Gear to Bring:
Uniform – Tactical style long pants, tee shirt and belt
Gear – Complete gun belt and ballistic vest for specific drills
Firearms – Duty pistol (no ammunition)
