Instructor Development Course

The Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy will be conducting an Instructor Development Course on September 29^th – October 7^th, 2025. This is a 7-day school.

Course Information

• Class size is limited.
• Students must have a minimum of two years’ experience with a criminal justice agency to be accepted.
• Students who successfully complete the Instructor’s Development Course and complete the required apprenticeship will be certified to instruct DCJS mandated entry level and in-service training.
• Students should be familiar with power point presentations prior to attendance. Recommended but not required. 

Tuition: Free to member agencies

                $700.00 for non-members

Registration: Registration will be handled through TRACER

In-service: In-service hours will be awarded for completion.
