5 – Day Active Shooter Training

The Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy is pleased to announce a 5-day Active Shooter training covering ALERRT Level 1, First Responder Medical (FRM), and Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR).

This comprehensive course is designed to equip public safety personnel with the essential skills for rapid response to active threats, integrating advanced techniques in law enforcement, medical response, and strategic action.

Course Highlights

  ALERRT Level 1: Foundational active shooter response training.

  First Responder Medical (FRM): Life-saving medical response techniques during critical incidents.

  Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR): Coordination between law enforcement and medical response teams in active attack scenarios.

In-service:

Career Development hours will be awarded

Registration:

Member agencies register through TRACER, non-member agencies complete a registration form and forward it to the academy via e-mail jnash@svcjta.com.

Dress:

BDU’s or similar type clothing and agency issued web gear.  Long sleeves and groin protection are also required.

Fee: There is no fee for member agencies, $500.00 for non-members
