Course Title: LAW ENFORCEMENT KNIFE
2 Day – 16 Hour DCJS In-service MIR
Dates & Time: July 9th – 10th, 2025 0800-1700hrs

Course Description:
- Prior knife or defensive tactics training is not required.
- Self-defense knife skills for the law enforcement officer when attacked by an armed suspect. In the scenario based close quarters exercises throughout this training, the LE duty pistol is not a viable option to defend against the attack.
- Recommended for:
- Patrol, school resource officer, tactical teams, prisoner transport, dignitary Protection, gang and narcotics interdiction, supervisors, etc.
- Defensive tactics and firearms instructors are strongly encouraged to attend.
Course Components:
- Skills – Knife skills for self-defense against edged & blunt weapon attacks
- Legal (2hrs) – Use of force and incident documentation
Uniform and Gear to Bring:
- Uniform – Tactical style long pants, tee shirt and belt
- Gear – Complete gun belt and ballistic vest for specific drills
- Firearms – Duty pistol (no ammunition)
