CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM TRAIN THE TRAINER

The Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy will be hosting a two and a half-day twenty-hour (20) Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) train the trainer on Sept. 28th, 29th and 30th 2022. The course is open to current law enforcement officers, corrections officers, mental health professionals, health care professionals and other specialists integral to the recognition and treatment of mental illness that have previously completed the CIT 40 Hour Core Basic Class.

Highlights:

  • Learn the proper way to develop scenarios to be utilized in your CIT Programs.
  • Learn about the multiple roles involved in CIT Scenarios and how to properly utilize them to put on an effective scenario.
  • Improve your public speaking skills
  • Learn how to deal with problem students
  • Become a CIT Instructor
  • And much more

Training Fee: Free to law enforcement/corrections agencies as well as local mental health and health care agencies.

In-service: 20 hours of career development

Dress: Business casual.  No blue jeans or flip flops.

Course taught by members of the Virginia Crisis Intervention Team Coalition.

Course is being sponsored by Highlands Crisis Intervention Team.
